We Don’t Have a Menu!

When the concept for The Italian Fisherman was created, co-owner David Murano explained to his partner Joshua Weiss, we are not even going to have a menu. Joshua replied, “How do you have a restaurant without a menu?” That is when David started to explain the concept.

“We don’t need a menu.” Murano said. “We are going to cook incredibly delicious food, serve enormous portions of it, and we are going to do it in four courses.” The courses that The Italian Fisherman offer are: Cold Appetizers, Hot appetizers, the Entree and Dessert.

And the interesting thing is that not only is there no menu, but nobody ever has any idea of what they are going to be served. Every table or group can, and usually will, have something different. Only the chef knows what is going to be on those plates. And of course he does…he is the one deciding all of this. Your plate is his pallet. And the food represents the colors on the pallete.

Will There Be Enough Food?

One thing for sure, you will not be leaving hungry after visiting. So much food comes out that you will be asking the servers to slow it down. But it keeps coming. Many get so full that they have three or four to-go boxes with them to take home. That is a lot of food. The portions are great too. Enough for everyone to enjoy. As a matter of fact, a table of two will sample 11 different food fares. A table of 6 will sample 15 different fares. One thing is for sure, everyone leaves full and leaves happy. We have even seen four buttons pop off people’s pants after eating so much at the restaurant.

How Much is Italian Food and How Much is Seafood?

The overwhelming majority of the food at The Italian Fisherman is Italian food. Perhaps “American Italian food”. There is seafood as well. If you don’t like seafood, or maybe you may have allergies, don’t fear. We can always make sure that you are taken care of. The breakdown of Italian food to seafood is 70/30%, so it is plenty of Italian food to satisfy.
